Congratulations to Maira Asif, WLUML Council Member, for receiving the Outstanding Practicum Research Report Award upon graduation in 2024, Rutgers University NJ USA! Maira has graduated with an MA Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies as a Fulbright Scholar from Pakistan. 👏
The departmental award is given to a graduate student who has produced outstanding and innovative research in the field of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies.
Maira’s report was titled: Transnational Feminist Advocacy Praxis against Taliban 2.0’s Gender Apartheid and Gender Persecution in Afghanistan. She compared the use of Gender Apartheid and Gender Persecution as advocacy tools to hold the Taliban 2.0’s oppressive gender regime accountable in Afghanistan.👏
